How to use Video Watermark Remover

What this tool does

The Video Watermark Remover lets you remove a watermark from a video you own. It takes out a logo, a line of text, a timestamp or a date stamp that stays in the same place while the picture moves. You choose a clip, check the mark the tool has found, and a short while later you can download a clean copy with the original sound.

Everything happens inside your browser. The video is opened, cleaned and saved again on your own device, so there are no server uploads and nothing to wait for in a queue. It is a free video watermark remover, so there is no account to create and nothing to pay.

When you’d use it

People most often use it to remove watermarks from videos they own, such as these:

  • Home and event videos with a date stamp burned into the corner by a camera or an app.
  • Your own edits where a logo, a caption or a “draft” label was baked in and you no longer have the project file.
  • Screen recordings and clips from your own channel that picked up a timestamp or an on-screen label.
  • Footage you exported with a watermark from a free editing app and want to re-use without it.

How to remove a watermark from a video

  1. Choose your video. Drop an MP4, MOV or WebM file on the box, or press Choose video. The tool starts looking for the watermark on its own.
  2. Check the watermark. You will see one frame of your video with the watermark outlined in red. If that is right, press Remove watermark. If it is not, choose Mark it yourself, paint over the watermark with your mouse or finger (the eraser and undo are there if you slip), and press Remove watermark.
  3. Download. A progress bar shows how long it will take. When it is done, drag the slider to compare before and after, play the cleaned video, and press Download video.

How it works

A watermark has one weakness: it stays in the same place while everything else in the picture keeps moving. That is what lets the tool remove a logo from a video without inventing anything.

  1. It looks for what stays still. The tool looks at many frames spread across your video. The scene changes from frame to frame, but the watermark does not, so the parts that never change give the watermark away.
  2. It learns what the watermark looks like. Because the picture behind it keeps changing, the tool can work out the watermark’s colour, its shape, and how see-through it is, much like seeing the same sticker through a moving window.
  3. It treats each scene on its own. When a video cuts between a bright scene and a dark one, the same watermark can look a little different against each. The tool notices the cuts, learns the watermark separately for every scene, and keeps whatever fits best.
  4. It takes the watermark away. In every frame, the tool removes exactly what the watermark added, so the real picture underneath comes back rather than a guess.
  5. It tidies up and fills gaps. Taking a watermark away can make the grain in that spot a little stronger, so the tool smooths it gently. Where the watermark is solid and nothing of the picture behind it survives, the spot is filled in from the picture around it.
  6. It checks its own work. After learning the watermark, the tool tries it on a few sample frames and looks for any outline left behind. If it sees one, it adds an extra repair step by itself.

Only the area around the watermark is changed. Everything else is carried over untouched, and your original sound is copied across without being re-saved.

What to expect

  • See-through watermarks give the best results. The picture shows through, so the tool brings back what was really there.
  • Solid logos can only be filled in, not restored. Expect a natural-looking patch on smooth backgrounds and a more visible patch on busy ones.
  • Text is treated like any other mark. To remove text from a video, such as a caption or a date stamp, the text has to stay in the same place while the picture behind it moves.
  • A camera that never moves is the hardest case. If nothing behind the watermark ever changes, the tool cannot tell the watermark from the scene, so it estimates or fills the area in. It tells you when this happens.
  • Video compression leaves a little grain. The cleaned spot can look very slightly different from the rest of the picture in busy scenes.
  • The result is a new file. It is saved again, so its size will differ from the original.
  • Phones and tablets work with smaller limits. A phone cleans videos up to 720p and 20 seconds at a time: a bigger picture is scaled down, and from a longer video it cleans one 20-second part. It uses the phone’s processor, so it may get warm. Keep the screen on and stay on the page until it finishes, or the work stops and you will need to start again. For longer or sharper videos, use a laptop or desktop computer.

Tips for the cleanest result

  • Check the red outline. It should cover the whole watermark. If a part is missing, choose Mark it yourself and paint it in.
  • Cover a little extra. Soft shadows around a logo count as part of it, so paint slightly beyond its edges.
  • Pick a clear moment. In the paint screen, the slider lets you move to a frame where the watermark is easy to see.
  • Use an up-to-date browser. The tool works on several parts of your video at once, so a device with more processor cores finishes sooner. A laptop or desktop is usually faster than a phone.

Your video is processed entirely on your device. It is never uploaded, logged or stored by ToolJutsu.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. The Video Watermark Remover opens, cleans and saves your video inside your own browser, using your device's processor. There are no server uploads, so your footage never leaves your device and the tool costs nothing to run however many people use it. You can check this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab and clean a clip. You will see no video being sent anywhere.
Can I remove watermarks from any video?
It is meant for your own videos, or videos you have permission to edit. Please only remove watermarks, logos or timestamps from footage you own or are allowed to change. Removing someone else's watermark to reuse their content may break copyright law.
What kinds of watermark can it remove?
It works best on a logo, a line of text, a timestamp or a date stamp that stays in the same place for the whole clip while the picture behind it changes. Marks that are a little see-through give the best results, because the picture underneath still shows through in every frame, so the tool can work out what was really there. It cannot follow a mark that moves around the screen.
Why does a solid logo look filled in instead of restored?
If a logo is completely solid, nothing of the picture behind it was ever recorded in those spots, so there is nothing to bring back. The tool fills the area in from the picture around it instead. That usually looks natural on smooth backgrounds, but it is an educated guess, not the real picture. With a see-through mark the picture shows through, so the tool can recover what was underneath.
Which videos and browsers does it work with?
You can open MP4, MOV and WebM videos that your browser can play. H.264 MP4 is the safest choice. It works in current versions of Chrome and Edge, in Firefox from version 130 and in Safari from version 16.4, on a laptop, a desktop computer, or a recent phone or tablet. If your browser can't run it, the page tells you why instead of failing silently.
Does it work on my phone or tablet?
Yes, on most recent phones and tablets. Cleaning a video means opening, fixing and saving every single frame on the device itself, so a phone works within smaller limits: videos up to 720p and 20 seconds at a time. A bigger video is scaled down to 720p automatically, and from a longer video the tool cleans 20 seconds at a time, so you can run it again on another part. It uses your phone's processor, so it may get warm: keep the screen on and stay on the page until it finishes. If your phone's browser can't do what the tool needs, the page says so and lets you copy the link to open it on a computer. For longer or sharper videos, use a laptop or desktop computer.
Does the cleaned video keep my sound and quality?
Yes. The original sound is copied across untouched, and the picture is saved at high quality. Only the area around the watermark is changed; everything else is carried over as it was. Your video keeps the same size, speed and length, unless it is larger than Full HD (1080p), in which case it is scaled down to fit.
Why are there limits on video size and length?
Everything runs on your own device, so the limits keep the work reliable. On a laptop or desktop computer, videos up to 1080p and up to 60 seconds are cleaned in one go. A phone or tablet has less memory and power, so there the limits are 720p and 20 seconds. If your video is longer, the tool cleans one part of it, you can choose which part, and you can run it again on another part.
A faint outline of the watermark is still visible. What can I do?
Choose Mark it yourself and paint a little beyond the edges of the watermark, because soft shadows around a logo count as part of it. Then press Remove watermark again. The tool also checks its own work and adds an extra repair on its own when it still sees the outline of the mark.
Why does my iPhone video say it can't be opened?
iPhones usually record video in a format called HEVC, and some browsers can't open it. To record in a format every browser can open, go to Settings, Camera, Formats and choose Most Compatible, then record the video again. You can also open this page on a laptop or desktop computer, which can open more formats.
Can it remove a moving or animated watermark?
Not in this version. The tool relies on the mark staying in the same place while the picture behind it changes. A mark that slides around the screen, grows and shrinks, or fades in and out needs a different approach.
Can I remove the Gemini watermark from a video?
Yes. The sparkle mark Gemini adds to its videos stays in one corner for the whole clip, which is exactly the kind of watermark this tool handles. Open your video, check the outline around the mark, and press Remove watermark to remove the Gemini watermark from a video right in your browser. Google also adds an invisible SynthID watermark, which this tool does not remove, so the video can still be identified as AI-generated. ToolJutsu is not affiliated with Google.
Does it remove the Veo watermark?
Yes, for Veo and Veo 3 videos where the mark stays in the same place for the whole clip. Open the video, check that the red outline covers the mark, and press Remove watermark. Google also adds an invisible SynthID watermark, which this tool does not remove, so the video can still be identified as AI-generated. ToolJutsu is not affiliated with Google.
Does it work on Gemini Omni videos?
Yes, for the same reason. If the watermark stays in one place for the whole video, the tool can find it and remove it. If it moves around, this version cannot follow it. Like other Google AI videos, it may also carry an invisible SynthID watermark, which this tool does not remove. ToolJutsu is not affiliated with Google.
Can it remove the Kling AI watermark?
Yes, when the Kling AI logo stays in one corner for the whole video. That is the kind of mark this tool is built for, so you can open the clip, check the outline and press Remove watermark. If the logo moves around, this version cannot follow it. ToolJutsu is not affiliated with Kling.
Does it work for TikTok or Sora videos?
Not well. The TikTok and Sora watermarks move around the video, and this tool only removes a mark that stays in one place for the whole clip, so it cannot follow them. A logo or a line of text that stays put works well; one that moves does not.
