How to use it

1. Choose your trip type — beach, city break, business, camping, winter or road trip. This swaps in the right clothing and gear.
2. Enter the number of nights you will be away. Clothing quantities scale to match.
3. Tick the toggles that apply: flying adds travel documents, kids adds a children’s section, and laundry trims the clothing counts.
4. Work through the generated checklist, ticking items as you pack them.
5. Add anything missing with the custom item box.
6. Use Copy list or Download .txt to keep or share the finished checklist.

How it works

The generator combines bundled, original category templates. A core set of essentials, toiletries, electronics and documents appears on every list, while the trip type contributes a tailored clothing and gear section. Clothing quantities are calculated from your trip length: the tool treats travel days as nights plus one and assigns each garment a quantity based on how many days it covers. Fixed items appear once. The toggles then adjust the result — adding sections or trimming counts — so the final list reflects your real trip rather than a generic one.

Tips

Be honest about the laundry toggle: if your accommodation has a washing machine or you are happy to use a launderette, enabling it can roughly halve the clothes you carry. Treat the suggested quantities as a sensible baseline, not a rule — adjust for your own habits, the climate and any activities that need special kit. Add custom items as soon as you think of them so nothing slips through, and tick items only once they are physically in the bag. Privacy

This generator runs entirely in your browser. The templates are bundled into the page, and your trip choices, custom items and ticks never leave your device — nothing is uploaded or logged. Your list is saved only in your own browser’s local storage so it survives a refresh, and you can clear that whenever you like.
